VM Challenge

How deep can you go? For no reason other than sheer geekdom, I’m posing a challenge for myself: how many virtual machines can you install within one another? I did a post a while back, about running a virtual machine inside a virtual machine. This is an extension of that. Well, I’ll be updating this page as I progress. Hopefully we’ll be able to get 10 machines deep or so.

I’d be interested in suggestions on how to approach this — and I welcome you to join the challenge as well.

For my first VM, I’m starting with Ubuntu Gutsy and VirtualBox. I’ve given it 1512MB of RAM and a 5GB drive. Subsequent VMs will live on another virtual drive.
